About Borough Green and Wrotham
Borough Green and the Village of Wrotham are located between Maidstone and Sevenoaks. The word Borough Green is thought to originate from the Old English word grene, meaning green place. This was added to an earlier plane name of either burh or borg, which meant stronghold.
The train station was known as Wrotham and Borough Green until the early 1960s when the Parish Council lobbied for it to be renamed to become Borough Green and Wrotham. The disagreement was all about the boundary in which the train station was located during the 1880s.

Borough Green to Sevenoaks Walks
The Saturday Walking Club recommend a 9 mile walk from Borough Green to Sevenoaks which takes you through beautiful countryside passing Ightham Mote and Knole House.
Sevenoaks to Borough Green and Wrotham Station
This 11 mile walk, identified by out of the loop, will also take you through Knole, Ightam Mote and Plaxtol before arriving at Borough Green and Wrotham Station.

North Downs Way Riders’ Route - Ride through 1000s of years of history on the magnificent North Downs Way National Trail Riders' Route.
