Community Rail Network Funding For New Promotional Materials

Railway 200 was an absolute whirlwind of a year, which saw Kent Community Rail Partnership promotional stalls at the Southeastern Ashford Depot open day, onboard Inspiration the Railway 200 exhibition train and at a host of station birthdays and local community events.

Over 800 tote bags flew off the table, packed with pens, pencils, stickers and brochures, spreading Kent CRP’s name far and wide and showcasing places to visit on Days Out By Rail. The year saw us go from a well-stocked storeroom of promotional merchandise to empty boxes on the shelves.

We are delighted that our bid to the Community Rail Development Fund to allow us to restock was approved by Community Rail Network.

We now have a lighter and more compact folding table that will be easier to transport to future events, A4 display panels to make better use of table space, new clipboards and leaflet dispensers to refresh our look, and a restock of the all important tote bags and pens.

“It’s great to hear about more funding from Community Rail Network to restock our promotional merchandise. Promoting the work of Kent Community Rail Partnership at events is so important, many people simply don’t know what community rail is, and the significant affect it has on the railway. Having promotional materials and merchandise really helps at events and is a constant reminder to people when they take them home. The tote bags could be one example, website links on material and merchandise also means that people can find out even more about Kent CRP and community rail as a whole.” – Dominic Noades, volunteer.

“Excited to see the new Kent Community Rail Partnership promotional merchandise funded by Community Rail Network. Having these available is crucial to the success of Kent CRP’s promotional events, offering opportunities for engagement and providing a reminder of our website where people can find out more.” – Clare Dowling, Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, Senior Project Manager, Active Journeys South and East.

“It was great to have Kent Community Rail Partnership’s tote bags to fill up with reminders of the day for people we spoke to at our Railway 200 events. We are pleased that Community Rail Network were able to fund these to support Kent CRP’s work in the years ahead.” – Linda Brinklow, Volunteer Chair, Swale Rail Line.

“Lovely pens. It just reminds me how much Kent CRP does for the community” – Jenny Hurkett, Island Forum.

“I’m taking one for my work experience candidate. Excellent promotion of Kent CRP” – Caroline Howard, Manager, Queenborough Guildhall Museum.

“Nice design. Very smart. It’s got the website on which is useful.” – Jackie Davidson, North Kent Rail User Group.

A huge thank you from everyone at Kent Community Rail Partnership to Community Rail Network for their support.
