Guided Rail Ramble from Wateringbury to Maidstone, Saturday 14th June
Starting at Wateringbury Station, this guided walk is taking place as part of Maidstone’s Big Day Out, celebrating green spaces throughout the borough.
Our walk will take us along the course of the river Medway, passing through Teston Country Park and the Maidstone River Park, ending at Lockmeadow.
Gentle Ascent
There will be breaks to take in the views and some refreshments along the way, and we will share a little of the history of the Medway Valley Line.
Please ensure your footwear is suitable for uneven and muddy trail surfaces. Bring clothing suitable for the weather, pack a waterproof, drinks and snacks, and any personal medication.
There are toilet facilities at Teston Country Park and Lockmeadow.
Dogs on leads are welcome, the walk is considered suitable for participants age 12+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
The walk will begin mid-morning, arriving in Maidstone early in the afternoon. There is no charge, however spaces are limited and booking is essential.
We hope our walk will inspire you to explore the Kent countryside by train, participants will receive a survey seeking their feedback.
