Rail Safety Pop-up at Maidstone West, Thurs 11th August

August 16, 2022

On Thursday 11th August, we were joined by Matt Fraser of Southeastern and the Dawn Patrol group of Rotary International to promote the 61016 service from British Transport Police, station safety surveys and all things rail safety.

Between us we handed out over 100 cards introducing the British Transport Police 61016 service that offers a discreet way to report non-emergency incidents on trains and at stations. The Dawn Patrol group also promoted completion of their station safety surveys, receiving many offers of help from passengers. Dawn Patrol have been promoting these surveys at a number of events throughout the year, results will be collated later this year and shared with Southeastern to provide insights into passengers’ perceptions of safety.

We heard a great deal of praise for the Southeastern staff and British Transport Police who help to keep the railways safe.

Our thanks to Matt and Dawn Patrol for helping us spread the word to so many people.
