Harrietsham to Lenham Walk, Saturday 19th November.

October 22, 2022

Join us on our Harrietsham Rail Ramble on Saturday 19th November.

Starting at Harrietsham Station, this walk will take you into the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The walk will explore the village of Harrietsham before climbing gradually to the North Downs Way, to follow the gently rolling trail towards Lenham. Along the way you may see the buzzards flying overhead, and the autumn colours of the North Downs. We will aim to tell you a little about the history of the North Downs Way, some of the farming techniques you may see, pilgrimages, fauna and flora of the trail.

Three walkers share a bench with a carved wooden sculpture of a monk, resting with eyes closed.

With breaks to take in the views and some refreshments the trail will then lead to the Lenham Cross, a war memorial carved into the chalk on the North Downs, before descending for a tour of the historic village of Lenham.

There you may wish to take refreshment in one of the many tea rooms, pubs, or restaurants before heading to the station.

Booking is essential via Visit Maidstone

We look forward to you joining us.
