Cycle Rails installed on our Kent Downs Line stations

The stairs of a station footbridge. On one side is a metal channel with a yellow stripe of anti-skid coating. This is a cycle rail, designed to allow a bike to be wheeled up or down rather than carried.

With support from Southeastern and funding from the Community Rail Network Integrated Sustainable Transport Fund, Kent County Council and Ashford Borough Council, cycle rails have been added to the footbridges of six stations along our Kent Downs Line.

 

Cycle rails make it a little easier to move a bicycle between platforms when you are taking a Days Out By Rail adventure.
